sneak peek

happy new year!

A beautiful and wonderfully expressive, melancholy little bear, will, a christmas gift handmade by my sister becky (note on the picture- taken using the handiest little tripod ever – a gift from my sister Catherine).

And a couple new owls in progress.

birds and preserves

My sister becky puts things up and she surprised me with a box of her homemade preserves this week. Besides the strawberry and rhubarb orange in the photo there is also a lime raisin chutney that I already put too big a dent in to photograph. They are all unimaginably delicious. Enjoy the holiday, there will be new little birds available shortly after and I’m thinking about maybe bringing back the daily bird for a little while. alice and something small

I thought I was going to make a cora today but an alice turned up. She is the daily bird and she will be in the shop at 8pm est.

This very mini pincushion is a surprise that came in the mail from my sister becky. It’s felted and has a little removable crocheted base.

terrarium

My sister Becky made me this little terrarium for Christmas and I could not be more pleased with it.

It’s in a hand-blown Victorian fishbowl that has a ruffled edge and all sorts of beautiful little bubbles and imperfections in the glass. She collected the little mosses and plants for the mini landscape over the summer. It’s truly spectacular and a perfect home for this tiny donkey I’ve been saving for something for years.

I’ve been in kind of a wheel spinning, non productive post holiday fog. I’ve got lot’s of stuff I should be doing, would even like to be doing, but instead of really focusing on any of it I keep doing stuff like spending HOURS making a new pin cushion.

*Thanks to everybody who’s bidding at the Kim Benefit on Ebay, people are being incredibly generous*

felted bowl

Look what I got, it’s lovely isn’t it?

It was a surprise present from my very crafty, fiberish, knitting, spinning, felting sister Becky. She makes lots of wonderful stuff including bears with amazing personalities and everything always in astounding colors and color combinations. I would love to post more of them if only she would send me pictures. I’m optimistically adding a becky things category.
