new dress and a pirate
A tattered antique dress for making things. You can click the image for a better look at the dress - it is ideal for making little wedding gowns for birds.

And a pirate - mick and his friend jenny. They will be in my etsy shop at 3 (new york time).

I’ll so be there at 3! Can’t wait to start my Ann Wood collection. And can’t wait to see our cake topper. Jenny is beautiful!

I’m sure I would love a bird dressed in that wonderful white, but I can’t imagine that you really plan to take shears to that irreplaceable dress!

I love that idea of recycling beautiful treasures into new ones….I need to find my own idea to use one in!

I am new to your little birds, to you actually. I just found you through Aphrochic. I would love to own a little bird. How do I know of upcoming little appearances so I can buy one? Beautiful blog by the way.

I’m in love with the pirate! If he ends up in one of my books do I have to put a © Ann Wood next to him?

Dear Ms. Ann Wood,
I would just like to say that your response yesterday on Weddingbee was lovely and gracious.
Your birds really are truly inspired. My Grandma used to make little birds a long time ago- which we played with until they fell apart as children. And if I’d known that she was going to die as soon as she did, perhaps I’d have kept a couple around.
Yours are even cuter than grandmas, I have to admit
Best of luck to you! (PS, when I get married a year and a half from now- I think the boy pirate bird would be fantastic on a grooms cake)

I absolutely love your birds. The pirates have such character and the bride and groom cake birds are such a fantastic idea. I really hope you’re still bird-making whenever I get married (which as I’m 20 will not be any time soon!)
Keep up the good work

I just want to leave a note like a gushing fan, to say that as a big admirer of your work, I am absolutely thrilled to see my basket of mini gingham apples there on the right, in your Etsy favorites. This definitely makes my day!
P.S. The dress looks gorgeous, but I am also very attracted to the bat skeleton beside it. (Is it a bat?)

The dress is exquisite is it damaged?? I myself wouldn’t be able to “take shears” to it either??
Love your birds and ships.
